I’m so thankful Neka decided to make this trip with me, for more than the obvious reasons. I don’t know how I would’ve managed had she not been here by my side. I’m forever grateful. Deuce better hold on to this one because she’s genuine with a heart of gold. No one can replace my twin sister but I feel our newfound friendship will eventually turn into a sisterly bond.

I’m gonna have to ask her about that stunt she pulled back at the hospital though, relating to me not knowing who assaulted me. That psychotic bastard and his deranged boss did things to me that I couldn’t have ever imagined. There are so many emotions going through me right now; anger, shame, hurt, resentment, frustration among other shit I can’t even describe.

Emotionally, I couldn’t handle talking to the police while they were asking questions back at the hospital. They wanted me to discuss the situation but I wasn’t ready. Honestly, I’m not sure when I’ll be able to talk with anybody about it. Only a select few will know anyway, but even those don’t need to try and make me talk about it. The ringing of my phone is a semi-welcomed distraction from the emptiness I feel, until I see who the caller is, Monti. I roll my eyes and press decline, wanting him to know that his concern or conversation isn’t needed. His ass can keep doing whatever it was that he left me to go do. Monti calls back three more times and each time it’s the exact same outcome.

Minutes later my dad calls, as Neka taps lightly on the window for me to unlock the door. Once I grant her access, she gets inside and drives around to find a parking space.

“Daddy,” I whimper.

“How are you holding up baby?”

“I’m not,” I sob, feeling like a little girl who needs the protection of her father.

He gives me a couple of minutes to get my cry out before speaking again, once I’ve calmed down a bit.

“I’m on my way to you now. Me, your brother, and Monti,” he explains.

“I want you and my brother to come. Leave Monti where he’s at. I can’t see him right now,” I reply angrily.

“You know I don’t usually get in your business. I try and let my kids figure their own problems out, but this time I’m gonna be all up in it. You can’t blame M..”

“But Daddy had he stuck to the plans of
